NMPED in collaboration with TNTP will be hosting a FREE K-12 Writing Structures Implementation professional development on Saturday, August 6th from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Teachers and leaders that attend will be able to:
- Utilize the New Mexico Writing Structures Guide.
- Understand an explicit set of sequenced strategies for teaching writing that can be integrated into any content.
- Demonstrate understanding of how to write standards-aligned prompts, rubrics, and analyze student work samples.
Participants that attend the August 6th session will be eligible to participate in the K-12 Writing: Grade Level Content or K-12 Writing: Strong Instruction Communities of Practice in the fall or spring semesters. If teachers participate in a Community of Practice, he/she will receive a $1,000 stipend.
